Pittsburgh sports fans haven’t been the happiest as of late. Whether you are a diehard football fan or someone who was just able to catch a few games, it is easy to see that the Pittsburgh Steelers have had a rough start to their season. With half of their season almost over; however, things seem to be finally looking up.
With their record consisting of 3 wins and 3 loses, the team knew that something needed to change if they wanted to start getting the ball rolling with wins. With 10 point deficit and only a minute left in the game, Ben Roethlisberger was able to pass for two touchdowns while Antonio Brown added his own touchdown, turning the deficit into an 11 point lead and win over the Texans.
While the win was a commendable performance for the team, there were still some kinks that needed to be worked out and the Steelers needed all the right moves moving forward to their game on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colt. As pressure was at an all-time high, the Steelers were then able to finally mesh as a team and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was able to go down in the history books once again, collecting his 100th victory and setting franchise records with 522 yards passed. His six touchdowns led the team to victory and ended the Colts 5-game winning streak.
The win re-energized many fans who were not as confident in the team’s abilities as they once were. Although some fans still are weary for the rest of the season, if the team plays as well the second half of the season as they did Sunday and continue the streak against longtime rivals, the Baltimore Ravens, a Super Bowl run may not be too far out of the cards.
