On Aug. 16, the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre officially kicked off 2012-2013 season with the 24th annual “Ballet Under the Stars.” The event had all the trappings of one that we at MANIAC love – wine, ballet, ballerinas and even a few aspiring baby ballerinas, who couldn’t have been cuter.
The free event was part of the Allegheny Summer Concert Series and featured a lineup of works by August Bournonville, George Balanchine and Dwight Rhoden. Attendees of the event mingled, sipped wine, visited the various booths of family friendly activities and even posed for photos with the PBC prima ballerinas.
“Ballet Under the Stars” officially ‘set the stage’ for the newest PBC season, which will premiere with Giselle with the PBT Orchestra in October.
