We would have celebrated Marilyn Monroe’s 86th birthday this year. Although the original blonde bombshell may not be around to blow her candles out, her legacy continues. Inhonor of the iconic sex symbol and the 50-year anniversary of her death, the Galleria Ca’ d’Oro in Miami is displaying a tribute to Marilyn from August 22 until October 10, titled Marilyn Monroe: Tribute to a Female Icon.
Among many other pieces, the exhibition features a life-size sculpture of Marilyn wearing the iconic white dress by Seward Johnson, a naked, blanket wrapped Marilyn portrayed by Pablo Echaurren, a painting with a real black diamond on the famous Marilyn beauty mark by Enrico di Nicolantonio and perhaps the most iconic interpretation – the pop-inspired Marilyn series by Andy Warhol. It’s without a doubt when it comes to this 28-piece exhibit on everyone’s favorite blonde sexpot – it is so very Marilyn. And we couldn’t love it more.
