With the heat that is upon us, we will be breaking out our itty bitty swimsuits soon. To help us feel fantastic and ready to strut our stuff at the pool, here is one of my favorite healthy juices to prepare you for summer.
Fire up your juicer first thing it the morning. I find that drinking the juice early makes me feel awake, full, and ready to take on the day (also, it helps me de-bloat after a night of nachos). Homemade juices are much more appealing to your pocketbook and your waistline. I like to make my own juices at home because I can add the perfect amount of fruit for me so that my juice isn’t a sugar overload!
Glowing Green Juice
(Serves one)
2 cups spinach
1 apple (doesn’t matter what kind)
1/2 cup of carrots
1/2 of a cucumber
1/2 of a lemon
If the juice is too bitter for you, throw in another apple or even an orange to sweeten it up a bit. It’s going to be a green color, but don’t let that deter you. It is mighty tasty!
If you have a juicer, that is the easiest method to make this, but it isn’t the only way. If you have a blender, make sure you really chop up all the ingredients so that they blend well. To get the ingredients moving and blending, you will have to add a little bit of water (try adding some yummy coconut water).
There you have it! A deliciously easy way to get some veggies and fruits into your diet and make you feel radiant and healthy.
