Natalie Bencivenga is a woman with both beauty and brains. Her look is exotic. She has jet-black hair, round brown eyes, full lips, and a smile that lights up any room. Her effortlessly cool attitude is refreshing, and captures her warm, vibrant, and inviting personality. She is a scholar with a Master’s degree in social work, and a background in science, philosophy, and media. Yes, Natalie is the full package.
In January she took over the position as SEEN Editor at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and has been engaging readers and partygoers ever since. She’s putting her love of fashion to good use day after day by attending and covering countless events and galas in the city.
When she walked into the Maniac studio she looked polished and stunning in a Rebecca Taylor dress paired with a bold BCBG statement necklace. Though she is used to life behind the camera, she posed like a natural and answered our style questions like a true fashionista.
MM: How would you describe your personal style?
NB: My personal style is relaxed glam. I love a bold lip, a cat-eye liner, but with unfussy hair. I love retro style mixed with modern; bold colors and clean lines. I’m not overly trendy, and I tend to wear classic pieces again and again.
MM: Who is your style icon?
NB: I love pretty much everything Jennifer Lopez wears. She always looks fabulous, but never forced. She’s a modern take on the glam girls from the past like Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor, both of whom I adore.
MM: What is one piece in your closet you could not live without?
NB: Definitely could not live without my Joe Jeans. When I’m not in cocktail dress mode for work, I prefer jeans and blousy tops. Easy breezy!
