Nowadays, any app that you could ever desire is right at your fingertips – literally – and that certainly doesn’t exclude the world of fashion. I’ve set out to compile a list of what I believe to be the best “fashion apps.”
1. F Network – An iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch compatible lifestyle app. It covers runway shows from New York, Paris, Milan, London, Los Angeles and Miami Fashion Weeks. Additionally, you’ll find models, hair & makeup, designer interviews and quotes. The F Network app is brought to you by Fashion Network™ International Fashion Channel 24/7.
2. Vogue Stylist – A must-have for any fashionista with an iPhone! Each month, Vogue Stylist gives you the back story on the top trends coming out of the fashion industry. You can get daily fashion inspiration from new looks curated by Vogue, and you can select and shop your favorite items from Vogue’s sponsors. Additionally, it will help you to pick outfits that are appropriate for your location and the weather.
3. Tri Mirror – The Tri Mirror app is available on Android and iPhone, and is a fashion and shopping community on the run. You can share pictures of clothing and fashion ideas as you shop; get dressing advice and styling tips; get clued in to the hottest deals on clothes, shoes, and accessories; advise others on their fashion ‘faux pas’; enter fashion contests; upload photos, and more. There is a compatible website, as well.
4. Fashion Story – If you liked Farmville on Facebook, you’ll love Fashion Story. More of a game than the other apps listed, with Fashion Story, you get to create a boutique, choosing and stocking the latest fashions, as well as considering layout and interior design; dress your character in the latest styles; and ‘unlock’ trendy designer clothes lines and stylish accessories, placing them in your store to draw trendsetting customers in from far and wide. You really get to showcase your style and creativity with this one, though with its cartoony vibe and girly details, it is definitely geared towards a younger, definitely female crowd.
5. the ELLE Shopping Guide – This app is a GPS-powered shopping app for your iPhone. The downside? Only available in 10 cities, currently. The upside? It is full of great shopping tips, hot deals, and insights on trends. It’s a great idea that with time will likely spread to a larger market. With it, you can learn about nearby stores and sales, get in on special offers and discounts, and more.
While these are my top picks, others that fall into the “fabulous” category include ChicFeed, ShopStyle Mobile, Stylebook, the Style Network app, the Dolce & Gabanna app, Gap StyleMixer, Trendtracker by Trend Stop, Glamour: Ask a Stylist, DVF, Lustr, and Style & City. I’m partial, too, to Haus of Gaga which features not only Lady Gaga’s music but also her sometimes-crazy but oh-so-artistic fashions.
Do you have any to add?
