Hello, Spring!
We’ve had just about enough company from our dear friend, February. And we’re ready to welcome March with open arms.
Winter to spring always seems to be a tough transition for our closets. The cold winter filled our wardrobe with warm cable-knit sweaters, thick scarves, our heaviest down jackets, and Sorrell snow boots. But now we need to find a way to shift flawlessly into spring fashion.
Here are a few little tweaks to your wardrobe for you to be spring-ready in no time.
First, let’s say “Sayonara” to our snow boots! We can finally give our scuffed up boots a few months rest from the salt and snow. It’s not quite sandal season so we’re looking to bring in some cute ankle boots and some easy-going loafers.
Ditch the tall socks and rock the bare-legged bootie. Bare a little skin by showing some ankle or even leg by pairing an ankle boot of heeled bootie with a cropped jean or a skirt.
Cropped jeans or just rolling a pant to show a little ankle is an easy transition into the warmer weather.
There wasn’t a day this winter that we left the house without a warm knit scarf. We can continue our scarf obsession into the spring just by swapping out our knit scarves and replacing them with our pretty-patterned cashmere and lightweight scarves. Spring calls for color so bringing out the bright florals and cheery pop of color finally brings our wardrobe into spring-mode.
Take your down jackets to the dry cleaners because (cross our fingers) we will no longer be needing them. Dig out your moto jacket and put it to use. Don’t be shy pairing your moto jacket with one of your fem spring scarves or even with a skirt. It’s all about mix and match in 2014. You can’t go wrong.
Lastly, lets get rid of the earmuffs and wool beanies, and instead bring out our head scarves and floppy hats. If you were too shy this winter to bring out the floppy hat, this is the time to do it! The floppy brimmed hat, or suede fedora is a great way to say hello to the spring.
