Caitlin Noel, model and New York contact for Spill the Juicy recently moved to the Big Apple to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology. After only being there a couple weeks, Caitlin has had the ability to attend photo shoots with Nigel Barker, meet Coco Rocha, and even experienceFashion’s Night Out. Caitlin is an extremely gorgeous and talented young woman, and we are certain her modeling career will take off with nothing but success. And now, she spills it about her journey through the fashionable streets of NYC.
Fashion’s Night Out went from 6 pm until 11pm and I started my night off at the Plaza hotel.
At the Plaza hotel was the CFDA Incubator, which featured designers, ALICE RITTER, Alice Ritter, BIBHU MOHAPATRA, Bibhu Mohapatra, GEMMA REDUX, Rachel Dooley, GREY ANT, Grant Krajecki, HOUSE OF WARIS, Waris Ahluwalia, JOLIBE, Joel Diaz, LEWIS, Alison Lewis, PRABAL GURUNG, Prabal Gurung, PUBLIC SCHOOL, Dao-Yi Chow & Maxwell Osborne, RUBY KOBO, Yuvi Alpert & Danna Kobo, SOPHIE THEALLET, Sophie Theallet, SUBVERSIVE JEWELRY, Justin Giunta.
It was fun to walk around and check out the different designers “pop-up” shops. At the Public School “pop-up” shop, I got interviewed on “Why I love New York” and got a free “New York Loves Me” silk screened t-shirt! Next, we hit up Sak’s 5th Avenue, which was the place to be! Donna Karan, model Karolina Kurkova, Jessica Szohr from Gossip Girl, Christian Siriano, Zac Posen, model Coco Rocha, Charlotte Ronson, Taboo from the Black Eyed Peas, Rebecca Minkoff, and Ed Westwick from Gossip Girl were only some of the celebrities and designers there. I saw Taboo and snapped a quick picture of him! He was signing autographs and meeting with fans.
After that, we went to the 4th floor of the department store to meet Zac Posen and Coco Rocha. My friends and I entered a contest to win tickets to his Z Spoke runway show at Lincoln Center. My friends name was pulled, so she and 5 other contestants had to dance to “Beat It” for the win. My friend Kelsey was picked by Zac himself as the winner and attended his show!
We walked along 5th Ave and it was packed with people, everyone was out and about for FNO. It was almost impossible to catch a cab!
Along the walk, we passed all the designer stores, including Versace. Where a male model was posing in the window and driving all the women crazy! Next, we made our way down to Soho and went to the Jil Stuart Store. There was a DJ and bar. It was awesome just going through the store, enjoying the atmosphere and the amazing clothes! While in Soho, I saw designer Alexander Wang, model Jessica Stam, and actor Adrian Grenier, but was unable to get a photo with them.
Before the night came to a close we went to the Oak Boutique and Burton Store parties. They were both filled with tons of fashionable people and great music! The Chanel store in Soho had a huge party, that was probably impossible to get into. Karl Lagerfeld, Sarah Jessica Parker, Russell Simmons, Diane Kruger, Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, Rachel Bilson, Liv Tyler, Alexa Chung, Clémence Poésy, Grace Coddington, Shalom Harlow, Freja Beha Erichsen, Abby Lee Kershaw, Rachel Zoe and Brad Goresky. Kanye Wesr, Claire Danes, Lou Doillon, and Daphne Guinness. These were some of the people there. It was quite an A-list event! Wish I could have been there.
Some more popular events: Valentino hosted a charity Poker tournament, Teen Vogue had a block party on Bleecker, Bergdorfs had games like ping pong and karaoke and appearances by Tom Ford and Heidi Klum, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen judged karaoke at Barneys, Phillip Lim and Rag and Bone had a Block Party, Naomi Campbell performed a dance routine at Dolce & Gabbana, the band Train gave a free performance at Macy’s, and so much more!
Fashions Night Out was a night of shopping, celebrities, and endless excitement.
You never knew who you would run into around the next corner, and while the streets were hard to maneuver with so many people rushing around, it was great that people were so enthusiastic about an entire night dedicated to FASHION!
NYC Love,
Caitlin Noel
