Every year brings a new batch of fresh faced fashion models, who dream of walking off the runway and onto the big screen. Not all of them have what it takes, but for aspiring actress and current IMG model Makenzie Weinman, a blossoming acting career isn’t just a fantasy, but a reality.
Growing up in her
small suburb of Dallas, Texas, Weinman knew she had to escape early. Since she was fifteen years old, summer after summer was spent jet-setting to modeling jobs in Milan, Japan, and all over Europe. While she shined as a high fashion model, walking in Paris Fashion Week for Louis Vuitton and doing a campaign for Steve Madden, the acting bug was too strong to ignore.
Weinman started out by taking a few acting classes at NYU, and a method-acting studio. It didn’t take long before she started landing roles on Law and Order: SVU, working with Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T, and most recently, the hit ABC show, Deception.
“I like telling stories,” said Weinman. “If I can tell great stories and be lucky enough to be apart of them, then I’m a pretty happy girl.”
