“Model Behavior”: Fendi’s 3Baguette Charity Initiative
To celebrate the February opening of Fendi’s New York flagship store on Madison Avenue, the iconic Italian fashion house collaborated with Sarah Jessica Parker, Rihanna, Jourdan Dunn, Leandra Medine, and Rachel Feinstein on their 3Baguette bag charity initiative.
The house asked these five prominent New York women to team up with them to design their own exclusive versions of the bag to benefit charities of the women’s choosing. The bags will be available for auction online until March 13th. The women worked with accessories creative director, Silvia Venturini Fendi, at the company’s workshop.
A recent fete featuring the bags was also a celebration of the new flagship boutique. The bash brought together renowned celebrities including Anna Wintour, Coco Rocha, Martha Stewart, Naomi Campbell, Rosario Dawson, and Hailey Baldwin, among others.
Model, Jourdan Dunn, personalized her bag in a testament with her heritage: a combination of black, green, and red leathers with a yellow python flap as an expression to the Jamaican flag. The words of her tattoo were written beneath the flap: you owe it to yourself, set the world on fire. “It’s something everyone can relate to. We all owe it to ourselves to give life our very best.”-Dunn
Dunn’s five year old son, Riley, was diagnosed with Sickle-Cell Anemia, so the proceeds from the sale of her bag will go to Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.
Rihanna’s bag flap features the standard double F design. The sides and front of the baguette are in black velvet. The back features black lurex on mink. Proceeds from the sales of her creation will go to the Clara Lionel Foundation, which Rihanna created to honor her grandparents.
Sarah Jessica Parker’s design incorporates black velvet, purple satin, and gold galuchat with cream and blue tones. She chose The Brain Trauma Foundation as her charity and the proceeds from her sales will directly benefit the organization.
Rachel Feinstein’s bag embodies beads, thread, and crystals creating a sea life concept. She decided to support The Naomi Berrie Diabetes Center for this initiative.
Lastly, Leandra Medine’s baguette fuses bright chiffon and sequins with orange and blue hues. The proceeds from her sales will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
