These days, a girl’s got to be everywhere at once and always looking like she just rolled off the runway. And while your wardrobe might take center stage, yesterday’s outfit usually ends up flung across the room or stacked up in a heap in your closet.
But with our lives in a constant state of chic chaos, who has the time to spend 20 minutes running around the house looking for the perfect tote to match those pumps? Not us. So here are some tips to help a Maniac like you stay organized and keep your handbags within reach!
1. Don’t Stack or Stuff!
Prefer the “Russian nesting doll” approach where you put the clutches inside the handbags and those bags in bigger bags and those big bags in totes until your purses are totally packed? It might look like a clever way to maximize space, but it’s really only a good way to forget or neglect the beautiful bags you’ve stuffed inside.
Instead, divide the bags by size and shape and line them up next to each other, giving them each their own space in a closet. This way you’ll never lose that Louis Vuitton again!
2. Divide by color and type
Lay totes flat on top of each other and stand clutches upright against each other in the closet. Bookends or even shelving dividers are an easy way to keep purses upright and give each one its own little section on the shelf. Stuffing purses with tissue paper or newspapers keeps them from falling into or behind each other and helps them keep their shape!
And be sure to put the larger styles in the back or on the top shelves so the smaller ones don’t get lost in the shuffle.
3. Hook it up!
Every girl adores her arm candy, so why not let it decorate your place? Buy screw-in bicycle hooks and hang those larger satchels or shoulderbags from the undersides of shelves, the inside of your closet or make a statement by letting them bedeck your ceiling. This will be especially handy for those favorites you use frequently.
So show your Louis some love, put your pocketbooks in their place and get back out there!
