For any little monsters who haven’t heard the good news, Lady Gaga is launching a new fragrance, Lady Gaga Fame. In true Gaga style, it’s a full-on fashionable assault on the celebrity scent trend—it is the first ever black Eau de Parfum. Mother Monster has been the reigning queen of pushing fashion limits ever since she burst on the scene a few years ago – and a fragrance was only a matter of time. But don’t expect Gaga to do it like every other celeb. Fame’s bottle is black, egg-shaped and adorned with a golden claw. The liquid is black in the bottle, but sprays on clear (a symbol for fame itself, we’re told.) And get this – the perfume was actually created to smell like “blood and semen” according to the Daily Mail. And the campaign, also in the Gaga way, features a naked Lady Gaga with miniature naked men crawling all over her.
To accompany her daring foray into the fragrance world, Gaga is simultaneously releasing a fantastically bizarre, and oh-so-Gaga, mini-film to reflect the ideas behind the perfume. Famed photographer Steven Klein directed the video, which will debut in full later this August. Until then, check out the trailer and get your paws up!
