It’s that time of the year again. The air becomes crisper and our wardrobes become warmer. While a lot of people cringe at the idea of winter, here at MANIAC we embrace it. Not only do we get to wear boots (finally!) but this is the time of year where Pantone passes the crown to a new official color. Don’t get us wrong, we will always love tangerine and have the lipstick and nail polish to prove it, but it’s time for a change. Drum-roll, please.
The color of 2013 is emerald green! Are you excited? We are! After all, what’s not to love about green? It’s the most prevalent color in nature. It conveys growth, renewal and prosperity. No other color represents change quite like this one. As women, we are always reinventing ourselves with new hair styles or a manicure so it is only fitting that emerald made it’s way to the winner circle. The color is universally flattering so it doesn’t matter if you’re pale or dark. It’s also festive for the holidays and works in any silhouette.
It’s also an excellent way to amp up your makeup. Emerald works best on the eyes as either shadow or liner. On your nails there are no rules. It’s bright but still professional enough for the office. What are you waiting for? We’re already grabbing or keys and heading to Sephora to indulge in this jewel tone.
