Get ready fashion fans! Even though winter has technically just begun, Macy’s has got us thinking spring with the launch of their new designer capsule collection series. This new campaign, beginning in the spring 2011, will introduce a rotation of affordable, ready to wear, women’s designer pieces for their Fashion “Impulse” department. The designer duds will only be sold in about half of the Macy’s stores located in the United States, but fear not as they will also be available online at Macys.com. To kick off this fashion phenomenon, Kinder Aggugini will release his collection beginning as early as February! Aggugini, who has worked with the likes of Vivienne Westwood, Calvin Klein, and Versace, plans to create a line that captures his famous rocker-chic designs.
Another key player for Macy’s is, get ready, the legendary Karl Lagerfeld. If you thought you could never afford something as fabulous as Chanel, think again. After cancelling his runway show during Paris Fashion Week back in October to focus on a more affordable line, many fashionistas were left with their jaws dropped in utter confusion and anticipation. But rejoicing is finally in order as Uncle Karl has confirmed that he will be teaming up with the Macy’s capsule collection as well. Similar to the collection he did with H&M 6 years ago, the creative director of Chanel will once again follow his desires to design more affordable fashions. The new collection will feature everything from jeans to dresses. The only down side is that it won’t hit the Macy’s shelves until September 2011.
