The weather is slowly rising as these days goes by in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Besides some of the late spring thunderstorms, the weather couldn’t be more enjoyable these days. Laying out and enjoying the sun’s rays are just one of the many things to do in the steel city. There’s also the trending baseball games, concerts, bike trails, and river activities to indulge yourself in. Of course, all of these things are usually followed by a not so comforting sweat. Now, if you’re working out or playing around, this usually isn’t too much of an annoyance. And for guys, you’re hair is usually pretty short, so the back of the neck heat isn’t too much of an issue. But what about you ladies?
Is the long hair constantly being tied up? Are the locks becoming too heavy? If they’re not and you’re totally comfortable with your long hair in the summer months, by all means, rock that beach wave and highlights. But, what’s starting to trend even more this summer is the short do, the pixie, the rockin’ up-do. Never really experiencing the super short hair until now, I couldn’t be more happy and encourage all you maniacs who are thinking about the major change to just go for it.
Just a few days ago, my hair was longer than shoulder length, yet constantly pulled up for the work scene and outdoor activities. I loved it. I could style it however I pleased, or let it fall in it’s natural waves. But the day came when I knew I needed the big cut. The change. It’s a really scary thing going into a salon and telling your hairstylist over and over that yes, this is what you want. It’s so dramatic sometimes, but when it came to short styles, it’s the only way I’d do it. Grow it long, then chop it all off. Its exciting, exhilarating, and most of all, fun.
With so many trending short pixie cuts to try, it took me a few days to completely decide on my look. With this big of a change, you should put a lot of thought into what you’re going to have to be dealing with, at least until your hair grows back. Pinterest is a great place to start, as well as many online hair sites. Once you find that perfect match for your face shape and style, it’s time to hit the clippers. Don’t be scared, be bold. If anything, don’t go quite as short as you might like, incase the change really isn’t for you, weather appropriate or not. But by all means, it’s the summer time, do something wild and crazy to start of the hot season. Be a Maniac.
