We all know that Calvin Klein isn’t one to shy away from edgy, risqué, and even risky advertisement campaigns (cue flashbacks to Marky Mark unforgettable Calvins shoot), but “Erotica” their newest global campaign for Spring 2016 is on a whole other level! This campaign is definitely a bit controversial, as some of the campaign images include models with only sheets wrapped around them, “belfies” (butt selfies, obviously), and a whole slew of other body parts. It is safe to say that this campaign lives up to its name, but will the theme backfire? The Huffington Post alluded that this sexier-than-usual campaign may have something to do with former creative directors Francisco Costa and Italo Zucchelli exit from the brand in April. Personally, it seems to me that they might have lost touch with the product they are selling and focused a little too much on the shock-advertisement strategy. But then again, it’s Calvin Klein and does anyone actually need a reminder about what they sell? Probably not. Just be warned, if you want to take a look at the rest of the campaign images here, I would deem them as NSFW.
