One of the few surviving alternative rock bands, The Pixies, will be coming to Pittsburgh’s very own Carnegie Music Hall of Oakland on Saturday, January 25th. After reuniting in 2004, the band is on yet another adventurous tour of the US with most of their original members. Vocalist Black Francis, lead guitarist Joey Santiago, drummer David Lovering, and newly acquired bassist Paz Lenchantin will all be performing selections from their past five albums as well as a few new songs from their new album BAGBOY.
Pixies indie rock and psychedelia style hasn’t lost its touch in their new video, “Blue Eyed Hexe” as well as their new tracks, “Magdalena,” “Greens and Blues,” and “Snakes.” The new songs can be purchased on vinyl or through digital download here, as well as new clothing merchandise. Although the band was more popular in the United Kingdom and mainland Europe, The Pixies are probably most known here for their famous hit, “Where is My Mind,” which featured at the end of the 1990s film, Fight Club. It is a fair statement to say that this band isn’t your usual or everyday band, they too have a little “Maniac” in them which shows through their album art, music video style, as well as sound.
