Hailing from Australia and arriving in a blaze of bleach blonde glory comes singer/songwriter Betty Who. After pairing up with producer Peter Thomas when both were attending Berklee College of Music, Betty Who (whose real name is Jessica Anne Newham) began her chart climb.
Her first single, “Somebody Loves You” was released in November of 2012 preceding her debut EP, The Movement. After appearing in a viral youtube proposal video in September of 2013 (see below), the track became an anthem for love of every sort and eventually reached the number one spot on Billboard’s Dance/Club Play Songs chart.
Following the release of her second EP, Slow Dancing, (which even hit number one on iTunes pop music chart) Betty Who joined pop icon Katy Perry on her Prismatic World Tour as the opening act. This gave the singer more (very well deserved) exposure for the EP and helped to spread word of her then upcoming debut album, Take Me When You Go, which was released this past October.
In June of last year, Betty Who made her Pittsburgh headlining debut at The Altar Bar during The Hopeless Romantic Tour. Performing to a crowd of excited superfans, Who put on a flawless show that resonated with everyone in attendance. She covered all of her hits and even pulled a few tricks out of her pocket. But don’t worry if you weren’t able to attend last time! You have a second chance! Who is bringing her Cadillac Nights tour back to The Altar Bar on June 10th! Get excited Pittsburgh. This is one show you won’t want to miss! Just ask Tyler Oakley!
