Where you’re from has a lot to do with what you get to experience. If you’re from the West coast, the beach is your backyard. If you’re an east coast gal, then you get to watch the sunset. If you’re near water, you might like to surf, if you get snow up north, then skiing might be your thing. We all have our hometown memories and pastimes and since many tend to move around, there’s gotta be something to remind us of home besides a photograph or the occasional call from a relative. For us Pittsburghers, moving away means missing the Steelers, the incline, Market Square, the Strip district, the Carnegie museums, and the list goes on.
A great way to remember what home has to offer is to make sure you remember where everything is. What better way than to keep a map. No, not those obnoxious pamphlets that are impossible to read but rather one with just words all grouped together, kind of like a collage. We recently stumbled upon what are called Typography maps- basically maps composed of words. It’s interesting to look at and goes great with any wall decor.
