This time of year we tell ourselves we’re going to make a New Year’s Resolution and stick to it! Most of these resolutions are given up on or forgotten about by March, maybe April if you’re devoted.
This year our resolutions aren’t made up of empty promises to lose weight, read more books, or break out that yoga mat that’s been sitting in the corner collecting dust. No. In 2014 we’re out to make a difference, and we’re starting by giving back.
Almost everyone has been affected in some way by that evil, deadly C word. For me personally, I have lost an aunt and uncle to cancer, and have close, relationships with others who can thankfully call themselves survivors. Most of you can relate. But did you know that thousands of cancer patients are unable to receive treatment because they can’t afford a place to stay when the best treatment is far from home? It’s something you may not realize, but it’s true. Let’s join together and help those who need it.
Last year The American Cancer Society provided lodging for 50,000 patients and caregivers. We can all pitch in to make sure that everyone who needs a room gets one. Let’s continue to assist The American Cancer Society in their efforts to help save lives. Make some noise and share this post with others to finish the fight against cancer. Text “Room” to 41518 to donate $10 and give someone an amazing gift to kickoff the New Year.
