Dan Belcher spends a lot of time around sand. But he isn’t making your typical sand castle and moat; he is creating massive works of art that have made him well known around the globe.
Belcher has been a professional sand sculptor since 1990, and has since won 3 Solo World Championships. Though based in St. Louis, Missouri, his projects have taken him to Australia, Japan, China, Italy, and the Middle East. Working with literally TONS of sand at a time, it can take weeks for Belcher to create one work of art. Working with the smoothest sand possible and water, he creates intricate and detailed sculptures that often include human figures, detailed architecture, and stylized text. In the past he has sculpted everything from sports figures, Monuments, racecars, and logos. Check out his website to see more amazing sand sculptures in his portfolio.
