Event this Week: Night Nation Run on July 18th
Put your bright colors on, running shoes and party pants because the Night Nation Run is in town this weekend (for the first time ever in Pittsburgh) and it is changing the way we party. I found out about the Night Nation Run a few weeks ago via Facebook and it had me super excited and very curious as to what it was. So to help everyone out, I am here to give you the 411 and believe me after reading this you will want to clear your schedule for Saturday night.
The Night Nation Run is an electric dance music festival and 5K all in one. The run is July 18th and begins with music at 7:30pm. As you warm up by dancing to the first DJ you will then be directed to start the race shortly after at 8:30pm. I say race lightly, this is not a 5K you are going to run as a record breaker. You can walk, dance, skip or run to the finish line, but make sure you enjoy the entertainment along the way. Throughout the race they have set up stations for different DJs, lighting effects and sound systems to make this run a three mile long rave. Once you finish the 5K you will be greeted with the grand finale of a huge after party filled with more performers and music several DJs.
The run is located throughout the North Shore, starting at Gold Lot 4, and lasting for hours. If you are interested in attending you will have to buy a ticket off of the website and then attend registration on Friday, July 17th from 4-8 at Dicks Sporting Goods in the South Hill Village. You will then pick up your tickets, gift bag and directions on how to prepare for the best night of your life. The Night Nation Run is an event to support the Stand Up to Cancer Charity. Proceeds are donated to the charity and celebrations are in honor to Stand Up to Cancer and give a fighting chance to those suffering. So make sure you are available Saturday, July 18th to help Stand Up to Cancer and party your butt off at one of the most outrageous events this summer.
