I was never really a fan of lipstick when I was younger, which was strange considering my mom “feels naked” when she goes out in public without wearing it. Today I’m more comfortable with it and wear it occasionally. My mom brags about how she can apply it without looking, in the dark, and upside down. Mother is not like daughter because I can only brag when I apply it using a mirror, standing perfectly still, without a hint of wind in the air and I don’t go out of my lip line. I wish I could say I have more experience so I could obtain the bragging rights of my mom, but I get very discouraged. I never can seem to find a color that suits me. It’s either too pink, too red, too orange, or not pink, red, or orange enough. I can never find a happy medium, and I know I’m not alone in this battle. My friends and I constantly complain about why this color we just got is alright, but it’s not perfect. I almost gave up lipstick all together, until I came across “Magic Moroccan Hare Color Changing Lipstick”.
Magic Moroccan Hare Color Changing Lipstick is quite the mouthful for a name. It’s a henna tattoo that looks green but when it is applied to your lips changes to a color that works perfect with your skin tone. The main ingredient is Red 27, which was once used in the 1980s for “mood lipstick” but that trend didn’t last very long. When it’s dissolved in a waterless base it’s colorless, and when it touches moisture it reacts to the pH. The pH of your lips along with the balance and temperature causes the color change. Everyone is different in these aspects, which is why there’s a variance in the hue from each person. The levels of pH are also altered by diet and stress; the lipstick is simply a reaction to a change in solubility from direct contact of the skin to moisture in the air. All of this together creates the perfect hue for your skin tone. They range from light pink to neon, it’s different on each person. It can last up to 7 hours and won’t fade from eating, drinking, or even come off onto your pillows! I have yet to try this magical product, but I can’t wait to get my hands on it.
