Crazy About Canary Makeup

The temperature is rising, the sun is shining and you know what that means- it’s time for new beauty products. Lets put the heavy concealers and dark shadows at the bottom of our makeup bags and start embracing that sun-kissed complexion with a pop of bright hues. Beauty lines are releasing their seasonal collections, and festive colors are prominent among many. One that is making its mark amidst popular makeup artists is yellow.

This is not your ordinary yellow, but instead an electric canary yellow that will have you longing for more. It is an unconventional trend that is one of the hottest colors being raved about right now.

Yellow is a color often associated with amusement, optimism and spontaneity. But among many Americans it has infamously been referred to as mellow yellow. Yellow is making a comeback and it’s all over summer 2015 in blazing tones and enriched pigments to create a flawless application. You can get style inspiration on the social media of the product or independent makeup artists. They set the stage with lathered lids, duo eyeliner effects and by contrasting this yellow next to darker colors such as plum, navy blue or even a bronze to create a glisten along the eyes. Don’t be shy with this new yellow, it loves to be dramatic. And why not? It’s summer time. The crazier, the better- that’s my motto.

This eye color can be found throughout several beauty lines but only a few have made it into my favorites. My preferred choice is by Anastasia Beverly Hills, they have new waterproof crème colors in six varieties. The yellow crème color is just what you are looking for to create this trendy look. You can use it for designing an artistic eyeliner effect or smother the whole lid and use it as a base. Anastasia Beverly Hills along with Urban Decay have also introduced new eyeshadow palates for summer 2015. In these palates you will find an array of colors ranging from bright to dark and several shades in between. These palates, Anastasia’s Artistic palate and Urban Decay’s Electric palate, both include vivid canary yellow hues.

If you are looking for a solo yellow eyeshadow to do the job right, then I also recommend getting MAC cosmetics chromaline waterproof eye color in Primary Yellow or, located at Sephora, the Sephora Collection colorful eyeshadown in Yellow Shimmer. Wherever you find yellow eyeshadow just be cautious that it is a rich pigment or else the color will not apply as strong and can give you the wrong effect. If you find yourself in a situation with dull color, try dampening your brush and applying the shadow. This will allow more eyeshadow to stick and hopefully give you a richer color.
