Summer is finally (officially!) here, and that means it’s time to start thinking about a few vacations and getaways. Typically, most of the articles and information we see about summer vacation spots is designed for either romantic couples or entire families – but what about getaways for you and your friends? When the weather’s nice out, there’s nothing better than taking a few days for a fun vacation with your girlfriends – so here are 5 amazing places throughout the United States for quick summer getaways.
1. South Beach, Miami
For most of us, South Beach is what comes to mind when we think “summer vacation spot.” The combination of world-renowned nightlife, interesting cuisine, luxury resorts, beautiful beaches and beautiful people make South Beach one of a kind of US vacation destinations. A few days there with your girlfriends, and you’ll soak up all the fun and relaxation you need to last you a month!
2. California Wine Country
If you and your friends are looking for a less active and more relaxing destination, think about California wine country. From the famous Napa Valley, to Monterey County, there are numerous specific destinations to consider, each of them filled with great food, cozy accommodations, and abundant supplies of world-class wine. A few days tasting and relaxing in the California sun can be an incredible getaway.
3. Las Vegas
For your western US summer party spot, look no further than Las Vegas. Try your luck at the casino tables, catch a show at the ARIA, hang out poolside at Caesar’s Palace, enjoy restaurants owned by world famous chefs, or simply stare at the lights and fountains. You’ll certainly find no shortage of amazement in Vegas, and you and your friends can have a weekend to remember.
4. New York City
NYC is always a fun destination for a getaway with friends, and many feel that it’s simply more accessible when the weather’s warm. Whether you’re into shopping on 5th Avenue, strolling through Central Park, or even doing the tourist checklist and visiting the Statue of Liberty or scaling the Empire State Building, New York is always more fun with friends. Not to mention you’ll find plenty of incredible food and active nightlife to enjoy!
5. Outer Banks, NC
Finally, if you’re just looking for a nice relaxing beach to catch up with friends, consider North Carolina’s Outer Banks. There are beautiful beaches all over the country, but at the Outer Banks you can often enjoy a house rental away from the massive flocks of tourists you’ll find at many other beaches. It’s ideal for a quieter, more personal getaway to just eat, drink and chill with friends.
