Krysten was MANIAC’s cover girl for the October/November 2010 issue. The model-turned-actress played in star-studded Hollywood movies such as She’s Out of My League, What Happens in Vegas, 27 Dress, and Confessions of a Shopaholic. Now the Pennsylvania native is gearing up to star in ABC’s new series Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.
The comedy will debut on April 11, after the Emmy winning hit Modern Family. Krysten plays Chloe, a wild yet sophisticated party girl living in NYC who forms an unlikely friendship with her naive, Midwestern roommate (Dreama Walker). James Van Der Beek is also among the cast, playing Chloe’s best friend.
KRISTIN CAVALLARI
Kristin graced the cover of MANIAC in the August/September 2010 issue. The reality queen was best known for her role in the MTV hit shows Laguna Beach and The Hills. She brought cameras into her world when she was in high school, and now at the age of 26, Kristen continues to captivate the tabloid world.
In 2011, Kristin became a contestant for the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars. Although she was eliminated during week three, the reality star was all over the gossip magazines. Her engagement to Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler made headlines in April 2011, but created even more buzz when her fiancé called off the engagement in July 2011. In November of that same year, Kristin tweeter that the couple had indeed got back together, and in January 12’ announced that the couple was expecting their first child.
Kristen helped host the pre-show during this year’s Oscars for E! and revealed a belly that she tweeted had grown “double overnight!” The next day, everyone was talking about how Kristen was glowing and her flawless look made best-dressed lists. We’re happy this California reality star found her happy ending.
MARIA MENOUNOS
Maria was seen on the cover of MANIAC in the December/January 2011 issue. She is best known for being a correspondent on various entertainment shows including Entertainment Tonight, Acesss Hollywood, and now working for Extra, co-hosting with Mario Lopez. The beautiful celeb has had some acting gigs working with shows like Without a Trace, and One Tree Hill, and in 2008 even interviewed the Obama family as a whole!
So what has Maria been doing since appearing in MANIAC? On February 28th, it was announced on Good Morning America that she would be a contestant on the 14th season of Dancing with the Stars. Her partner will be Derek Hough so has previously won the 1st place title with stars like Brooke Burke, Nicole Scherzinger, and Jennifer Grey! Looks like Maria will have a pretty good chance at winning the Mirrorball Trophy!
GILLIAN JACOBS
Gillian was MANIAC’s cover girl for the August/September 2011 ‘Too Cool for School’ issue. Gillian is best known for her role as Britta Perry on the NBC comedy series, Community. The show is about a group of students at a community college, so Gillian made the perfect fit for our school themed issue.
Since posing for MANIAC, Gillian has been very busy. She just wrapped a film called Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, with big-named actors like Steve Carell, Keira Knightley, and Adam Brody. She also has two films that are in their post-production stage, and currently filming two other films. Some actors playing along side Gillian in these upcoming productions are Elijah Wood, Ryan Phillippe, Kristen Wiig, Jim Carey, and Olivia Wilde.
Community (NBC) airs again on March 15.
KATE UPTON
When Kate posed for the cover of MANIAC’s December/January 2008 cover, she was still an up-and-coming model, but everyone had their eyes on her. Kate was just 15 at the time of the shoot, but we knew she was about to hit supermodel, star status.
Since gracing our cover, Kate has been the face of many campaigns, and has been seen modeling in several big-name magazines. She has modeled for Dooney & Bourke and was even the face of Guess in 2010 and 2011. The young model also appeared in 2011’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, where she was featured in the body pain section and named Rookie of the Year.
They must have loved what they saw because the next year Kate was named the cover girl for the 2012 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. After that, she was EVERYWHERE. Making appearances on Saturday Night Live, and various late night talk shows like the Late Show with David Letterman, Kate is here to stay.
