The Best Looks of ’16’s Festival de Cannes

By  |

It’s that time of year again; it’s the Cannes Film Festival. The 69th annual festival will last from May 11th to 22nd. Celebrities become dressed to the nines, while I sit and stare at my computer screen with envy. Cannes, France is soon filled with actors, actresses, producers, directors and socialites; it becomes the ultimate place to be. Cannes shows fashion of casual wear to the red carpet attire. Since movie premieres are day and night, celebrities must have their top attire on at all times. For myself, I love to see what all of the celebrities are wearing that day. Cannes brings together celebrities around the world, giving the audience a true sneak peak into what everyone is wearing this spring. Here are some of my favorite daytime red carpet outfits from the festival so far.

First off, Blake Lively can never go wrong with her outfits. She could wear a plan white t-shirt dress and I’d probably die of envy of how perfect she looks in it. The red jumpsuit she wore is perfect for the upcoming summer; it’s simple and elegant. Some of my other favorite daytime looks include Kristen Stewart, Mélanie Thierry, and Caitriona Balfe. A reoccurring color scheme this year seems to be red and white. Skirts and jumpers/rompers also happen to be the preferred daytime style choice among the stars.

Finally, the red carpet looks. Most of the celebrities looked amazing in their ensembles, so making the decision of only choosing a few that were my favorite was a difficult one. All of the celebrities seem to be in agreement that gems and long gowns are the way to go this festival.

Here’s Sonam Kapoor looking gorgeous in this elegant white gown with an attached embroidered cape designed Ralph & Russo.

Amal and George Clooney; Amal wore a pale yellow, one-shoulder Atelier Versace gown, while George wore an Armani suit.

Naomi Watts looks radiant in this lilac dress by Armani Privé.

Once again, Blake looks perfect as ever in this gem-covered gown by Atelier Versace.

This year, the Cannes festival fashion did not disappoint. All of the stars look très chic. The festival carries on for only a few more days, and I can’t wait to see what the stars are wearing for the last days.
